Now you may ask yourself what is there to do in and around Forneby? Forneby lies inVästmanland, in the very heart of Sweden. Forneby is an urban district of Möklinta, a tiny peaceful village which can proudly call a well sorted farm shop its own. In need of bread or some onions? You name it, they have it …. even on Sundays! If you fancy a swim, a romantic dinner at a restaurant or simply a big super market, you want to be heading out towards the next bigger town called Sala. Let yourself be mesmerized by its underworld … and discover its sparkling silver mine. Sala is only 20 km away from Forneby and can easily be reached by car or bus (nearest bus stop only 200 m from our door step). If you are rather the Spa and Wellness type, then let yourself be pampered by a massage or indulge yourself in a relaxing bath at Sätrabrunn. How about horse riding whilst you are in Sweden. You have come to the right country for this adventure as the Swedes love their horses and our countryside offers beautiful sceneries for long rides. If you always wanted to gain an insight into the art of how to ride a horse the Western way, then our nearby ''horse whisperer'' will gladly be at your service.

Or are you a golf pro? Then our golf courses around Sala and Heby will get your pulse going. Come and ''have a ball''. You think Sweden, you think Elk. So how about paying them a visit? Given that these lovely creatures are rather shy, it is less likely that you will see them in the wild. Always wanted to see nearby Dalarna where the biggest horses are ''made''? Go on a day's trip to lake Siljan in Rättvik or venture beyond Avesta, home of the world's biggest ''Dala Häst''. Now let's hit the water …. under or above ….there is loads on offer. Fishing, paddling, swimming … all of that literally at your door step. Storsjön is only 500 m away where perch, pickerel and whitefish await you in abundance. Angler maps and a boat rental can be found in the village.

Surrounded by rich forests and meadows Hällsjon is one of the most beautiful lake sites and ideal for swimming and bathing. Anglers will love it here as the lake is rich in pikeperch, perch, pickerel, bream and tench. Boat rental and angler maps also available in the village.
